Short Description
Summary Role
My research interest are in the field of zooplankton and the part play by these organisms in the vertical flux of organic matter. In other words, how does the pelagic ecosytems react to observed changes of the zooplankton communities? After a PhD at Laval University (Québec), I've done post-doctoral research within the ISMER group at Rimouski (Québec). I was then engaged in 2000 as an assistant professor at Université Pierre et Marie Curie. Since 2000, I've participated to several national and international programs withn which I was more specifically in charge of the zooplankton component : diversity and function within the water column. My main focus are on how the functional diversity of the zooplankton can be involved in the functionning of the ecosystems and on the export flux of organic. I'm actually involved in a national project concerning the impact of heat pumps on the coastal ecosystems. Does the rejection of circuating water impact the pelagic and benthic functioning?
